Hayward's Luxury Safaris, South Africa

Peter Hayward is a pioneer with a vision. He doesn’t merely imagine a world of grand opulence; he creates it with his unique mobile safari operation. Stepping into Hayward’s world is like lifting the flap on the past and entering a bygone era of luxury tented safaris in the grandest style; waiters in white, silver-service dining, and a touch of Bedouin to spice things up.

World leaders and VIPs from the most prestigious corporations have been served by gloved waiters at events staged by Hayward’s. A Hayward’s safari is for any discerning group of 40 to 120 people, who want to experience, even only fleetingly, a touch of high-society safari life.

Hayward’s camp is mobile and its portability means that its collection of tent poles and billowing white drapes can be positioned in extraordinary places. The camp has been seen in the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site near Johannesburg, the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, a World Heritage Site in KwaZulu-Natal, the West Coast National Park near Cape Town, the Pilanesberg National Park in North West province, the Kruger National Park in north-eastern South Africa, and the oldest desert in the world, the Namib Desert in Namibia.

Accommodation is in safari tents with en-suite bathrooms. The sturdy camp beds are covered in cream linens and soft pillows, allowing for maximum comfort. Before settling into bed, there is much wining and dining to be enjoyed. Culinary showpieces, complemented by fine wines, are served in the Gin Tent.

Dinners can be themed ‘Classical White Nights’, ‘Ethnic African Trader’ or ‘Out of Africa’. No more far-fetched is the option of having a massage in a large tent in the middle of the wilds of Africa. Afterwards, peruse some old African literary works in the library or examine collectibles in the Trader’s Store.

The team at Hayward’s Luxury Safaris has given the meaning of safari a whole new dimension. For them, nothing is impossible.
